Mitchell obtained an Honours LLB from the University of Exeter, a prestigious law school in the UK. Prior to his legal career, he earned an Honours BA in Criminology from Wilfred Laurier University, where he also minored in Law and Society. This diverse academic background has given Mitchell a unique perspective on the law and its role in society.

Born and raised in the small community of Binbrook, Ontario, Mitchell has always been deeply connected to his roots. He still resides in the same town where he grew up, and he takes great pride in serving his local community as a lawyer.
